World Autism Awareness Day Blog Hop April 2nd

Welcome to Studio Shabaz - CreativeMe68 Blogspot.
Today is World Autism Awareness Day which
aims to put a spotlight on

the hurdles that people with Autism - and others living with autism - face every day.

Stampin' Up Demos through out the world are also raising awareness
through this blog hop, where we all create a card or a project

to show our support to Family and Friends who may have Autism or are a caregiver <3You may have just started hopping with me here or hopped from Tanya Boser
Tanya is very creative so I sure that her creation will amaze you.

Here is a sneak peak of 1 of my creations, I created 3 in total.

My creation was inspired by these images and our Blog hop header and Next buttons

I started my card because of the Bokeh effect in the Blog hop header.
You ask what is 'Bokeh' -
is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a camera lens. Bokeh has been defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light"
To create Bokeh background effect you use a variety of Monochromatic inks with a dauber
and you create circular patterns on a piece of whisper white cardstock.
I always start with the darkest colour working to the lightest colour to finish off.
Making sure that you overlap the colours as you finish each colour,
so that there are no white gaps between your circular pattern.
Now to create the foreground, you use a circle stencil with Craft White Ink,
BUT because there was a light bulb for inspiration I decided to cut my own stencil.

To create the bulb I used Watts of Occasions stamp set, and drew a slightly bigger shape.
Cut it out of the centre of cardstock use this as my stencil.

I inked up a dauber with Craft White ink, then layed down my stencil and
in a circular motion I layed down layers of white ink...dark and light shades
Continually moving the stencil over the base of bokeh card until it
is fully covered with the light bulb effect.
PLEASE NOTE - You dauber will pull up blue colour from the base
so have a slightly damp cloth so that you can wipe off the blue from the dauber
or you craft white ink will be become blue, make sure your dauber doesn't get too moist
or your Bokeh effect won't work out.

Suppose you would like to see the finished product now....
BUT before I show you, I will show you a fatal mistake
If your background is still damp and you try to emboss this is what happens :(

So then I decided to make another card, I liked the bulb so much <3

My last creation was a work in progress all day yesterday,
Ohhh I might try this,
Brusho's
What about this,
Embossing Folder
Wonder how it will all look together?
I cut around the Butterfly wings to make it look like they were flying...
BUT it was too boring looking with just plain cardstock under the wings.
So I created another embossed layer which I coloured with Brusho
placed that behind those wings...

ABSOLUTELY LOVE BRUSHO, you can achieve so many variations.
Here is the finished card...
and some details

and of course you have to see the inside
If you would love to support Autism financially,
please donate to our friend Shaley's walk for Jett
 Or at Autism Spectrum Aust.

I do hope that you enjoyed my cards as much as I enjoyed creating them for this Hop.
Please leave me some LOVE in the comment box below
and check out the rest of
talented artisans here and their wonderful creations.
Up next is Colleen Johnson, who I am sure will have something very unique.

My next Blog Post will show you how to create more cards
featuring Brusho and Embossing Folders.
Until next time....Enjoy the rest of your day

    1. Thank you Amy, I am such a literal thinker so it only seemed appropriate that I use a lightbulb for the background.
