I am so excited to be participating in We Create Blog Hop for the very first time..
I am an Australian Demo located in Gogango Qld.
I have been a demo for 5 years BUT I have been scrapbooking for almost 16yrs.
This year I challenged myself to create more scrap books layouts.
My scrapbooking took a backseat to my card making there for a while.
BUT I AM BACK SCRAPBOOKING most days of the week.

With a Brand New Catalogue being released today June 1,
we have so many AMAZING new products to whet your appetite.
AND some of our favourite colours are returning to our colour palette.
My 1st choice had to be Rooted in Nature Stamp Set & Framelits....
I also used some carryover stamps and products.
Firstly I stamped the background with the Hardwood Background Wood Mount (w/m)
Stamp with Versamark and then heat embossed it...
Then I started to create my version of Courtenay Heuston 'Black Ice Technique'
Courtenay uses a half dry baby wipe to peel away the ink and the gold foil
back to the silver to give a variation on the background.
Then I stamped with Staz On the tall tree from Rooted in Nature set.

Once these were done I cut them out with the matching Nature's Roots Framelits Dies, I probably made about
9 or 10 versions using Gold, Silver, Copper and Champagne Foil.
This is how I got some of the variations in colour.

Next I proceeded to create a background of trees with the outline across
the whole page with Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad and a dauber.

RETURNING favourite colour - Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Pad.
I added some of the trees, sticking some straight to the background,
some I used Stampin Dimensionals to create some height.

I printed my photo at home and of course my printer ran out of ink, right when I
needed it!!! Typical and I don't have any shop in the town where I live.
So Thankfully hubby had to go to town and he brought me the ink.
You can see that where I cut the trees off the edge of the photo I still used them.

The layout was too stark on the white background just with the trees so
I added some Mossy Meadow Cardstock, Pear Pizzazz Cardstock
and Old Olive Cardstock which I tore to create the grass in the background of the photo.
I was much happier with the look of the layout then!!!
This is a photo of my Husband Barry doing what he loves doing on his weekends off.
Fishing and drinking his favourite alcoholic beverage while relaxing at the river.
Up next is Tricia Butts who is creating something quite AMAZING

I have yet to try this technique as I will probably make a mess of it. I love you set the picture amongst the trees.
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the day it simply is just a piece of paper, if you mess it up chuck it in the bin and start again!!!
