AS WELL WE ONE OF OUR GUEST DESIGNERS
T
oday Denise Cox who is April's Guest Designer
It's her turn to SHINE - I have seen her design you will be blown away!!
So creative is this layout that I may very well CASE it...
Denise has chosen this wonderful theme for today's hop - Masculine

If you haven't heard of Scrapbooking Global - Stampin' Up!
it is a Facebook group which I created in Jan 2017.
It is a group which I created for us SCRAPBOOKERS who use Stampin' Up! products.
We have over 5000 members and we are growing everyday!!
Join us over there for all the inspiration that Stampin' Up! products allow us to create.
So many inspiring creations from all over the world.

I may only be speaking for myself BUT I tend to do more female orientated
Scrapbooking layouts so the men in my life (as much as I love them)
I tend to forget to scrap them as I find Masculine layouts difficult.

So I decided to use another suite from the current occasion catalogue.

Best Route - DSP, Best Route Memories and More Cards this product is retiring
and I for one can tell you that I will be sad about that!!!
Perfect for the Men in our lives.
Even though these Best Route Memories and More cards are usually used in our
Photo Pocket Pages for our standard Black Leather 12x12 Album or the 6 x 8 Album.

I tend to use them on my traditional scrapbooking pages,
I cut them up and use bit and pieces of the cards on my page...
Here I have cut the lil orange location indicator out of the 'we were here' card
added another layer of the blue that I have used behind the photo to create depth.
The Best Day Ever tag I trimmed and added behind the photo to use
as a
journal tag to add all the details from the special day!!!

All the little elements make a layout easy to create.
Firstly I actually started with the
Gallery Grunge Stamp set that I am pleased to say
is carrying over to the new catalogue which is released on June 4.
Gallery Grunge has 4 distinct patterns that are perfect for male layouts.
I used the wood grain stamp as I felt that it complimented the photos I chose.

I stamped the pattern down the middle of my
Whisper White 12 x 12 Cardstock with Night of Navy Classic Stampin' Pad

Then I added some splatters with a watery mix of Night of Navy on my Aqua Painter.
Next I used my Stampin' Write Basic Black Marker to splatter some ink on the page.
Next I added some more of the Gallery Grunge Stamp in Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad
to other places on the layout.

This is a trick that Shelli Gardner the Co-founder and CEO of Stampin' Up!
was up on stage demonstrating
showed us with the brush tip of the marker
by dragging it out of the inside of the lid with a flick it leaves splatters on your project.
It is a very cool technique....INSERT VIDEO if I find it

So once I had all my elements of the layout ready I just started placing it on the page.

Here is the complete layout, I do hope you like it!!!

Most of you may remember that I am always cutting the backs out of my layouts
so that I don't waste all this beautiful DSP behind the layout...

I felt the layout was lacking something without the blue pattern DSP behind it.
So I trimmed down 2 sides of my layout so that I would get an
even border around all for sides.
So this is what the back of my layout looks like, when you pop it in the album you can't
tell that it is cut away like this.
That arrowed tag is the back of the The Best Day Ever tag
which I have journalled personal details of the Wedding Day.
I just cut a very fine slice right behind the photo and slipped it in.
