Stamp 'N Hop 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue

Welcome to Stamp 'N Hop 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue Blog Hop
20 of us to showcase this Beautiful catalogue, Sooo Many Gorgeous products.
You may have joined me from Jacqui Lawrence's Blog or just started the Hop with me...

Well as always I am behind in my creating again....Story of my life lately
BUT I always seem to pull something out of thin air....
Normally I find the photo and go from there, BUT again I started this without a photo.

PINTEREST is always my GO TO when I am struggling to find something to create.
I searched for Stampin' Up! 2019-2020 Scrapbooking and only cards came up.
So I just searched Vintage scrapbooking and this came up

A long way off of Stampin' Up! BUT it was all the inspiration I needed.
Thanks
Gabrielle Pollocco, so Beautiful
My layout didn't end up being Vintage, BUT I absolutely LOVE it!!

I started with a piece of Sahara Sand 12x12 Cardstock from the
Neutrals 12 x12 Cardstock and tore up it across the page
Next I spritzed the cardstock so that I could make the ridges that Gabrielle created
You have to be careful so that you don't rip any holes in your cardstock.
I just kept spritzing and gently created the layers...

Sooo after I had created the layers, I then dried it with a heat gun...
Next I added text randomly to the bottom half of the Sahara Sand cardstock.
The text - "Wishing you a day of love and joy"  was from Woven Heirlooms Stamp Set
I stamped it with Crumb Cake Classic Stampin Pad

I couldn't go past the NEW Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper
And the matching Perennial Essence 12 x 12 Vellum Cardstock.

I knew it would go PERECTLY with this vintage kinda look

Next I tore the Petal Pink piece of DSP so that this would go behind the Sahara Sand
I decided that I would add some dimension using Shimmery Embossing Paste
I added a couple of drops of Grapefruit Grove Re-Inker and mixed it up.
I decided to create my own stencil rather than use the ones that are in the catalogue.
So I used Springtime Impressions die, which comprises of varying blooms and leaves.

To create your very own stencil, I use Window Sheets and dies
run them through your favourite die-cutting machine.
I needed to use the Precision Cutting Mat to get a complete cut through the Window Sheet
with the Springtime Impressions die

Next I randomly added the embossing paste and stencil all over my page
Sometimes I did a lot, some places I only did a small amount.
You can dry this with the Heat Gun but I just went onto creating my blooms next.

When I create a layout with lots of layers, and it becomes lumpy bumpy
I stick it to the cardboard that comes with our DSP as this gives it stability.
Once the Embossing Paste was dry I dragged out my poor old sewing machine and randomly stitched in different places on the layout...
My machine is a work horse she is always sewing through layers.

I knew that I would use the matching Floral Essence Stamp Set to create Vellum blooms.
I did use some retired Grapefruit Grove Embossing Powder
with Clear Embossing Powder on the Petal Pink Vellum Cardstock...
I stamped about 10 large blooms and then about 20 smaller 3 point blooms
from the same set which has a matching Perennial Flower punch
Once I heat embossed them I used my bone folder to curl them to create dimension
I did some of them under and over the petals...
Using Mini Glue Dots to hold them together.

I still hadn't found a photo for this layout, so the hunt began...
Luckily I remembered at my Daughter's Bridal Shower
we wore huge blooms in our hair.  PERFECT!!!

Now I started to piece it all together, I needed to make my photo sit above the ridges.
So I built up layers of cardboard (I use the 12x12 pieces that come in the Foil & Glimmer)
I don't chuck this out!!!  See the photos!!!

Next I stick my DSP to the cardstock then my photo to that.
WOW lucky that photo mat is not stuck to the layout yet as that is mighty crocked.

My blooms are so big that I do lose a lot of the ridges, which is disappointing.
BUT they do look Beautiful, don't you agree?

Ok I think I can show you the layout now that you have seen most of the details.
I also cut out a Floral accent from the
Springtime Impressions dies
out of the background DSP to pop behind the photo.

I stamped the leaf from Floral Essence Stamp Set on the back of the Green Vellum
with Pretty Peacock Classic Stampin Pad
stamped off to show up the veins on the leaf stamp.
Then punched them out with the Leaf punch.
I stuck some of them the right way up and then I used some upside down between
all the floral blooms, they are a PERFECT accent.
(If you stamp on the front of the vellum it takes ages to dry and you may smudge it.)

Sooo very happy with this layout...
It is definitely going to have to go in a Shadow Box Frame up in the Studio Shabaz.
This layout has too much dimension to go in a traditional album.

There is no title yet as I am waiting on the
new lettering from Stampin' Up! Hand-Lettered Prose dies.
I am also wondering if I need anything else embellishment wise on this layout,
Do you think it needs anything???

If you LIVE in Australia and don't have your very own Demonstrator

  4. This is stunning. I have seen a lot of Gabrielle's work and can not believe you took one look and came up with this. It sounds as if it came together so quickly for you. I would have been working on this one piece for a month. You have inspired me to try a layout again. I haven't done a scrap page in years. Thank you for sharing
