Welcome to Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop where this month
we are featuring the New Annual Catalogue Sneak Peak...
Such an exciting time of the year when we can pre-order new products from
a YET to be released catalogue and start making samples for our upcoming launches.
You may have just joined me from Vicky Wright's blog where I am sure her creation
will be AMAZING...Vicky and I have just become friends on FB and I have joined her
Sunny Stampers Group...She is one very talented lady <3
My card is for a group swap at our upcoming team meeting at Sutton's Beach, Redcliffe.
I created a prototype a couple of weeks ago and thought this would be a great card
for the swaps...BUT I didn't really think about making 20 of them!! Did I??
Anyways 240 pieces later... I had to begin construction!!
I used So Saffron cardstock and Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock.

I am making a Gatefold Shutter Card after finding
this tutorial on You Tube from Sandi MacIver
Cutting Instructions found on her blog
I added a couple of extra pieces to my card
Shutter Pieces: – 3-1/2 x 4, (two pieces) – score on the left side at 1/2 inch
This is the centre of the card that gives us the shutter fold mechanism.
One side has the points cut off, this overlaps the other side.
Next you add the Inside Centre piece – base color 3 x 5-1/2
on top of that add Designer Paper (DSP) 2-3/4 x 5-1/4
only sticking it at the bottom with dimensionals at this point.
This piece I created using the Lovely Floral TIEF embossing folder on Shimmer Paper
Once it was passed through the Big Shot I added Versamark Ink to the raised edges and
sprinkled clear embossing powder over it and heat set it. Then I stamped
'Love What You Do' with Black ink and clear embossing powder and heat set it.
The finish on this piece was almost like Batik when I added water with an aqua pen
and Gamboge Brusho Crystals to it, then added extra water
with a Stampin' Spritzer to make the crystals burst.
Once these were dry I cut them with Layering Circle Framelits
Next I added my inside sentiment (behind the shutter fold mechanism)
Then I stuck down the top of the inside piece over the top of the shutters
This is where the magic happens,as you open the card the shutter opens from
smaller to larger shutter to reveal the hidden message

For the belly band to hold this card together I cut 20 Very Vanilla circles
ran them through the Big Shot inside the Lovely Floral TIEF embossing folder
and then used a dauber to add some colour to the embossed floral design.
Then I added 20 Scalloped Circles behind the embossed circular design and
attached to the belly band with some dimensionals.
Up next is Kayla MacAulay, Kayla's creation will be stunning!!!
