Welcome to July 20, 2023 Scrapbooking Global _ Stampin' Up!
Blog Hop - Grid Patterns
This month Julia Quinn our talented Creative Design Team Member
chose this theme and what a cool theme it is...
It had my mind in a spin there for a bit, I wanted to create a
quilting pattern that looks cool in a grid pattern formation
BUT time once again whips my butt.
At Scrapbooking Global - Stampin' Up! we are a Facebook group of over 6000 members
and we ask that you mainly use Stampin' Up! products on our page when creating
Scrapbooking Layouts, Samplers and Home Decor.
We have this monthly Blog Hop to inspire our members and the public to join in
and participate if they want to. Our Blog Hops are held on the 3rd Thurs of the month.
That depends I suppose where you live in the world, but everyone is welcome to join us.
Every month a new theme is added and you sign up around the 5th of the month.
If you don't have a blog you can still participate, simply create a layout for the theme
and upload it to the album with that month's name.
Soooo I stepped back and literally did a grid pattern...BUT with a little twist...
It's called Faux Tile Technique <3 Pretty Cool I reckon.
I made this card yesterday and it gave me the idea for my layout today.
You may have started the hop with me or started it
Scrapbooking Global - Stampin' Up! member Lauren Colless.
Lauren is joining us for the first time on our hop.
Please welcome her and the rest of the hoppers, leave them all
some love in the form of a comment after you have seen what they created.
So I love a black background on my Scrapbooking layouts.
I worked out where my photos were going and then ruled up my page.
I used my scoring blade on my trimmer to create the background,
ruling my background into 1" squares...
It is so hard to show up on a black background.
to create the grid-like images over the edges of my temporary photo mats.
I probably should have added more stamping BUT I just got on to
adding the rest of the details from this Darling Details Bundle.
11 flowers were stamped and diecut from Darling Details Bundle.
I stamped the outline image first and then lined up the background image.
I find it easier this way to get almost perfect alignment.
Next I used the border dies to create frames around my photos.
First one was Bubble Bath with the smallest frame.
See how you can see the grid pattern between the stamped images
AWWW... I am gushing about this photograph.
Eloise you are just so adorable <3
I needed to cut 4 long border edges for the large photo of my Daughter
to create this border around the photo.
they work perfectly together with our clothes don't you think?
Love how this one worked out with this Bundle and recent photos
of my family when we visited Cairns to catch up with Kirrily, Adam and Eloise.
Stamping and Die-cutting for this layout.
Still need a title and some bling BUT I just couldn't choose.
Updated the post with the Title and some Bling, Bling
Up Next is Julia Quinn, I cannot wait to see what she created
for her theme... I am sure it will be AMAZING
Until next month, Thank you to everyone who joined the hop this month.
Please remember to go by and comment on the blog hop pages
and leave them some love.
Cheers Shaz
