Scrapbooking Global Vintage Challenge

Welcome to my Blog, Studio Shabaz - CreativeMe68
I am the Scrapbooking Global Creative Design Team Member
who sets the Creative challenges and Blog Hop themes for Novemeber.
Each team member get to decide on a theme for both challenges.
We are almost at the end of our first 6 months of challenges and blog hops.
Only myself and Stesha Bloodhart to go...
Then we will be calling for some new design team members....
check out the link at the end of my post if you would like to join.

I chose a theme that I love creating Scrapbooking layouts for...Vintage

Vintage scrap booking, either choose photos that are truly vintage, meaning the old black and white photos or create your own vintage styled photos. Pretty dsp with a floral base with these neutral, brown, gray or green colour tones that create the vintage feel.
A vintage style scrapbook will stand out amongst your other scrapbooks.
There’s just something about looking at old photos and
feeling as though you stepped into the past.
So I hope I take you right back to approx 1966...

The photos I chose to scrapbook were of my parents when they were dating
or just newly married... I absolutely LOVE this photo.

I found this inspiration while looking at Pinterest...

So that was were my starting point was, trying to recreate a similar background
with our beautiful Share What You Love Stampin' Up! DSP
which has a pearlised finish to some of the papers.

Lots of layers were added to this to make it look vintage....
Embossing Paste, Re-Inkers, Copper Spritz and some stamping.

Very different to what I started with...

More textural elements were added to create that Vintage feel.
Speciality papers, corrugated cardboard, bandage texture, lace, tearing, stamping,
layering of flowers, black and white photos, bling and handwritten journalling
So who goes and rips a perfect background, yep that is me!!!
I needed to add more texture...

These next few photos were taken late at night. So the colouring is way off!!

At this point of creating this layout.. I was almost ready to throw it in the bin
I could get my photo placement right (in my tiny mind)
Or the use of mats for my photos...many options were tried.
I asked many friends what they thought.
Thankfully they don't get bored with me sending photos.

Getting to where I wanted to be now, can see the beginning of a Vintage layout.
So once I worked out my photo placement the layout really started to come together.
The flowers that I cut from Project Life cards that are no longer available
were the only ones that I felt right for the layout.

Then it was just basically placement of the flowers and journalling spot.

Lots of processes to go through to create this layout...
Hope you are not too bored with the process.

FINALLY  the BIG reveal
