Welcome to Scrapbooking Global May Blog Hop - DIY Creative Backgrounds
You may have joined me from Sherry Roth or you could be starting the Hop with me...
Every month we give you a theme for you to go wild with, this one is one of those themes
that make you try something a lil bit different...
Our Creative Design Member Delys Cram was the one who picked this wonderful theme...
I cannot wait to see what everyone has created...
That is what so GREAT about these challenges, even if you don't have a blog you can still
join in the challenge by simply leaving your version in the May Blog Hop Album over
in the Scrapbooking Global - Stampin' Up! FB Group...
Please add your layout here
Now onto my creation....Stamps, Ink and Paper and Diecuts from Specialty Paper.
I took inspiration from my photos of our Cousin's lil girl who we look after
while her parents are working....
She LOVES spending time with Uncle Baz, so after loading some gravel
into the back of the ute, she got to ride in the back on top of it...
BUT she wanted a joy ride so we did some circle work (going round and round)
so that Baz could get some photos of her enjoying herself.
STILL not sure what to call this layout sooo I have left room for the title.
I brought this Bundle a few months ago and I have never even inked up until last night.
Brushed Blooms Bundle from Jan- June Mini Catalogue,
where the inspiration for the DIY Creative Background were born...Pg 29
I chose the colours from Hannah's hat...
Magenta Madness
Poppy Parade
Mango Melody
Coastal Cabana
Pacific Point
Balmy Blue
Just Jade
Such a beautiful palette of colours...
I simply stamped the largest brushstroke in Pacific Point and then used the
long skinny brushstoke with Balmy Blue all over the background.
Next I added some splotches in Just Jade and then small dots in Mango Melody.
AND then I wanted to add pops of colours so I chose to use another bundle from
Jan- June Mini catalogue which ends on June 30...
Pretty Perennials Bundle which includes both the Stamp and Dies.
I used some of the matching cardstock which I stamped tone on tone
then I added some of the Rainbow Glimmer Paper diecuts on the flowers.
Next I added some Playing with Patterns Resin Dots to the centre of the flowers
I also used a hand punch to punch out some circles of the Rainbow Glimmer Paper to
add to the background...
the brushstroke die and then I ran Magenta Madness cardstock through too
Added this as a layer behind the photo.
Thank you for following along on the Blog Hop, if for some reason this NEXT link is broken
follow along with the list below.
I hope that you were inspired to try your own DIY background....
Cheers Shaz
