Welcome to Scrapbooking Global September Blog Hop
We are very excited about this HOP, Delys Cram picked this theme - Scrap The Boys.
Our Father's/Husbands/Brother's and Sons tend to get forgotten.
BUT not this month we are focusing on the males in our life, even if it is your pet.
You may have started the Blog Hop with me or joined me straight
from Courtenay Heuston blog where she created a layout that was a Blast from the Past.
We have 10 Hoppers joining us today, don't forget that you can join us anytime you want.
We hop the 3rd Thurs of the Month.
ALSO I would LOVE to welcome our newest Creative Design Team Member Julia Quinn.
Cannot wait to see what she creates for this theme.
This layout is extremely easy to pull together, mostly stamping with a variety of stamps.
BUT I have really struggled to find just the RIGHT photos to showcase my Dad
through the years...It is just so hard knowing that he is never coming home.
Sooo NO PHOTOS again for me, I am sorry <3
I have loosely followed a digital layout from the web to create my layout.
Unlike this layout I have not included a title as this is another hard one atm.
I started with a piece In Good Taste Designer Series Paperas the basis of my layout.
Then I used our Blending Brushes with Sahara Sand Ink to the edges...
TIP - I ink up a block and add my blending brushes to the block
and blend over my DSP/CS rather than using my blending brushes directly to my ink pad.
This SAVES damaging your ink pads and any cross contamination.
I wanted some other stamping on the page so I used A Good Man stamp and stamped randomly in the top right corner. Words and Hearts are from this set.
I wanted dates on my layout to show the timeline, which was easily achieved with
Days to Remember stamp... Only thing is you have to work out the actual way the calendar is so that you can get your days and dates correct for your month.
France (Frenchie) Martin has the best video with tips and tricks.
I used the Playful Alphabet and Self Adhesive Foam Mounts for the year numbers.
Another TIP- Stick foam mount to your cardstock and run the numbers through
and you will have dimensional numbers, instead of what I did...
Cut the number then cut the foam and tried to stick them together some of them are a bit off.
I used some retired product- Antiqued Corners on the corner of my calendar.
SORRY - If you want them you will have to scour our retired sale pages
Antiques Corners and Slides 152471
To finish off the layout I added some more texture under where the photos will be
once I have decided which ones to add. I added some scraps of ribbons and then a
quote that says - A Reminder To Never Forget, How much you mean to me.
This sentiment comes from the Holiday catalogue stamp - Nature's Harvest.
Lastly I added another layer woodgrain dsp from Beauty of The Earth DSP
behind my In Good Taste DSP which I textured again with my scissors and blending brushes.
Up next is our newest member of the Creative Design Team
Thanks for joining us on this hop, I hope that you will be inspired to join us over at
