Scrapbook Sunday - Feb 10 - Using the Thank You Kindly Kit contents

Sneak Peak

Scrapbook Sunday

Welcome to the Crafty Collaborations Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop,
Crafty Collaborations is a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from throughout
the world collaborating together and sharing their creative flair.
I LOVE not having any theme or challenge for our Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop.

It allows me to choose EXACTLY what I want to create with, not having any boundries.
I hope that you have enjoyed all the layouts that we shared with you today.
We have so many talented scrapbookers among us Stampin' Up! Demos
don't you agree with the AMAZING layouts here.

You may be starting with Julia Quinn or you may be starting here with me,
Thank you for joining us this month.

I am using the Thank You Kindly Kit from the Kits Collection for my Scrapbooking Layout.
I LOVE that I can change it up and use what is supposed to be a card kit for scrapbooking.
Wait until you see what I have done with the products below...

I have chosen to include some Greeting For All Mix and Match Ephemera pack
from the Jan - April Mini Catalgoue.

As well as all these products
12" x 12" Basic White Cardstock
Country Woods Designer Series Paper
Black Cardstock
Brushed Silver and Gold Specialty Paper
Blooming Pearls Embellishments
Blending Brushes
Gray Granite Classic Stampin Pad
Basic Black Stampin' Blends
Textured Floral Dies
Elements of Text Cling Stamp (Online Exclusives)

Another single photo layout, BUT this called for simplicity.
BUT I did wanted to add a bit of moodiness to the stark white linen feel of this kit.
AND the photo called for it, such a Beautiful Silhoutte photograph of my Jeffrey & Laura.

Sooo to start with I always divide the page into quadrants by drawing very light
pencil lines so that I can make sure the balance is right on the layout.
I chose the Gray Granite woodgrain paper from Country Woods DSP pack.
I knew that I wanted to use the
Elements of Text Cling Stamp (Online Exclusives) to add
some grunge to the layout... Also I felt like I needed to add some splatters with the blends.

Then I grabbed out the elements from the Thank You Kindly Kit.
Firstly the floral and leaf elements were given a slight grunge up with
as I felt they were too stark and too white.
Placement is always a bit of a dilemna for me, making sure that I have that
visual triangle of elements to make it pleasing to my eye.
I then mark out where I think the elements are and then I added some blending with
Gray Granite Classic Stampin' Pad and Blending brushes.

*TIP... Take numerous photos between changes so that you go back and see which one
you like the best.

I chose to cut up the envelope as it had that beautiful gold outline to make a feature of it.
I cut the envelope flap off so that I could use it for a hidden bit of journalling,
BUT completely forgot to add a journalling tag inside that envelope.
I will add that tomorrow and update the photos.
The way I would do it is cut a small slit in the protective sleeve and add my journalling tag through there so that you can pull it out to read what was written.

I also matted the envelope with black to make the photo more dramatic.

Now the background, I used the cling stamp without a block, just stamping first and second generations of Gray Granite Classic Stampin' Pad on the layout.  It is very tricky trying to keep the script straight BUT I am happy with the final outcome.

Once I had everything back in place this is when I now stick it down and
then I added the gold leaf accents from the Textured Floral dies.
Lastly I added the words and the gold embellishments from Blooming Pearls.
I hope you enjoyed how I created this layout...
