Kelly's Stamping Friends - Birthday Blog Hop 2018

Welcome to the blog hop for Kelly's Stamping Friends - Birthday Blog Hop 2018.
Please Wish our Birthday Girl Kelly Kent - Happy Birthday!!!
There are 2 groups of 20 participants who are celebrating Kelly's Birthday today.

We were asked to create a special project with only one stipulation was 'To Be Creative'
I am in group B, I will include a link to Group A's hop at the very bottom of this post.

You may have just joined me here or hopped from Sue Vine's Blog
Sue would have had a beautiful creation on her blog to tempt you to recreate, I am sure!!!
For those of you who don't know me, My name is Sharon Dalton (Shaz)
I live in Central Queensland and I LOVE creating with Stampin' Up products.
AND today I decided that I would create with
some products that are carrying over
from the current catalogue. As well as LOTS of brand new products
from the
upcoming New Annual catalogue
available June 1

Current Catalogue products
The obvious choice was Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set 143666
and Matching Bouquet Bunch Framelits Dies 143659

New Catalogue Products
Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper 146907
Delightfully Detailed Note Cards & Envelopes 146911
Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper 146926
Share What You Love Embellishment Kit 146928
Nature's Twine 146342

The Note card and envelopes make easy cards quickly as they are already
pre printed ready for Stamping or layering with the
Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper.
This Laser Cut Paper is Whisper White on one side and Very Vanilla on the other.

This is where my card began, I picked my design
piece from the
Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper
with this beautiful pearlised finish to some of the flowers and leaves.  I absolutely love fussy cutting... Do you??
Fussy cutty explanation for those of you who don't know this term is where you cut up the paper into smaller pieces to add to your cards or scrapbooking layouts
Once I had cut what I thought to be enough flowers
I started to construct my bouquet for the card front...
I used Bouquet Bunch Framelits Dies to cut 2 bouquet stems
from the returning Mint Macaron cardstock. YAY!!!

And I cut the wrap for the bouquet out of Rich Razzleberry cardstock.

Using dimensionals I added some behind the stems added it
to the
Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper
then I add Old Olive fussy cut pieces, then I added the Rich Razzleberry florals
then with the largest flowers I curled the petals with my bone folder
to create some dimension on the petals.
See how the petal are curled.

I also added some mini glue dots to hold the Mini Roses inside
the flowers (these are only available in
Share What You Love Embellishment Kit)
Aren't they just adorable??

To finish off this card perfectly, I felt it needed some more of those flowers inside.
Also adding a sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set

Hope you liked what I created for Kelly's Blog Hop, I had fun creating it!!!Thanks for hopping along to my blog, please leave me some love in the comment box
below and I will in turn return the favour to you <3
Have an AWESOME day <3

Stamp 'N Hop - New Annual Catty Preorder

Hi my name is Shaz (Australia) Welcome to my blog
So excited to be hopping with 24 Talented Demo's from all around the world.

You may have just hopped to my blog from Jennifer Charles's blog

This month we are previewing products from the upcoming New Catalogue
which launches on the 1st of June...These products we got to pre-order early.
I have created a Scrapbooking Layout with the Nature's Poem Suite.
I used Nature's Poem DSP, Rooted In Nature stamp set and Nature's Roots Framelits.
ALSO the EARLY RELEASE of Love What You Do stamp set.
AS well as some returning products from 2017 Annual Catalogue
Textured Impressions Embossing (TIEF) 'Woodland' folder.
Tree Rings Background stamp.
I also used some embossing paste to create more texture and layers...
ALL PRODUCTS LISTED AT THE END OF THE POST,
which you can purchase from my online store.

AND RETURNING Colors from previous years.

Like this one that I have used on my background of my layout, MINT MACARON!!
YES I use the cardboard packing slip for a bit of sturdiness to my dsp.
and I never ever use a full sheet of dsp or cardstock behind my layouts.
I don't like to waste all that beautiful dsp or cardstock.

My layout starts out with the photo that I want to Scrap, do you do the same thing?
Then I create all the embellishments that I want to use.
I wanted the log stamp from Rooted in Nature to have a bit more texture,
so I added some Embossing paste to my silicon mat.
I then added some Soft Suede re-inker to the paste to colour it.
I smeared some coloured embossing paste onto the wood looking dsp
then stamped the Tree Rings stamp set into the wet embossing paste
to create a background impression...(Wash off stamp immediately)
I can tell you this didn't work out how I thought it would in my head.
When this dried, I tried to stamp the log stamp onto this BUT it didn't work so well.
I did still use them, sadly not as effective as I hoped they would be.

Then next I stamped out some leaves...
I used Tranquil Tide ink on Mint Macaron cardstock, the large leaves I stamped off the ink before stamping on the cardstock (2nd generation stamping).
The small leaves I used full strength Tranquil Tide, these small leaves I added texture to
them with the embossing dies included in Nature's Roots Framelits.
There are 3 different sized leaves that only emboss in this set.
BUT they do have dies to cut out the shape which is very handy.

I also used the 3 leaf embossing die on the Rust coloured DSP to create some different
coloured leaves on the layout. There is a beautiful large tall tree so I had to have one or two on my layout as well in this beautiful rust coloured dsp.

With the leftover paste from my log background, I used it on whisper white cardstock
over the 'BRICK' Pattern Party Decorative Masks. This gave me another textured
piece to add to my layout...
I also used the TIEF Woodland folder to add a lil bit more texture, I used the rust coloured
dsp and then I ran it through the Big Shot and then sanded it back to give that rustic look

I always place all my components of the layout on the base then continually
move them all around until I feel like they are in the RIGHT spot...
Throughout this whole process, I continually take photos as I find it is better to look
at the layout in a photo - I can see much better what needs to be moved or straightened.

I wanted to add more photos & journalling BUT I felt that it would take away from
the photos of the scenic view...So I created a sneaky photo spot complete with a
leaf to pull it out and journalling block with another photo under it...

I am so happy to have these photos on the layout, BUT not over powering the
featured photos...Here is the complete layout now with all these NEW Products.
So happy with this layout...
That I thought I would whip up a card with all left over bits.
.This suite is going to be such a universal set for any occasion that I card is made for....
Don't You Agree???
Up next is Amy Grendel
who I am sure will have more products to wet your creative appetite.

Colour Combo Blog Hop - May

Welcome to my first hop with Colour Combo Blog Hop.
I am so excited to be a part of colour challenges as they
make you use colours you wouldn't normally use together.
There are 8 including myself hopping today, so buckle up
and get ready for the colour ride of your life...
Hope you are inspired by this colour combination...If so give it a try.
You may have started with me or you may have
just joined me from Tracey Lewis's blog

Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party and Peekaboo Peach are all colours that are I use regularly
BUT not very often together.
  Wonderful colours aren't they?
Peekaboo Peach is leaving our colour collection at the end of May...
Little bit sad about that BUT don't worry there are plenty of new ones to replace it.

So I was at a loss what to make until I saw the inspiration from this picture
in the current catalogue PG 131, sitting side by side I knew it would work.
Where does your inspiration come from?
Then I started looking at designs and found one
in the soon to be released catalogue...I can't show you the inside of the catalogue yet,
BUT if you are Demo you can see it on
PG 19, if you are a customer the
New Annual Catalogue will go
LIVE June 1.

Sorry that the photo colour is a bit off today we have a gloomy day,
and that you cannot really see the texture on the background layer.
Full Instructions on how to make my card
Step 1 Cut Whisper White Thick cardstock to 10.5cm x 29.6cm - Score at 14.8cm
to create your card base.
Step 2 Cut Peekaboo Peach cardstock to 10cm x 14.3cm.
Step 3 Emboss Peekaboo Peach layer inside Basket Weave (TIEF)
Textured Impressions Embossing Folder through your Big Shot
Step 4 Die cut 4 leaves from Flourish Thinlits (largest leaf die)
Step 5 Adhere leaves
down each side of your embossed layer,
now adhere Peekaboo Peach embossed layer to card base
Step 6 Cut Pool Party 9.75cm x 10.5cm
Step 7 Stamp Flourish in Pool Party Ink onto Pool Party Cardstock
Step 8  Cut out some Peekaboo Peach flowers to put on your stamped image
Step 9 Add dimensionals to the bottom of the flowers, adhere to Pool Party layer.
Step 10 Add dimensionals to the back of Pool Party layer and
adhere to Peekaboo Peach Embossed layer
Step 11 Punch a Pear Pizzazz shape from Tailored Tag Punch
Step 12 Punch a Peekaboo Peach shape from Tailored Tag Punch
cut this in half diagonally.
Step 13 Adhere the Peekaboo Peach to the back of the Pear Pizzazz to create a small border at the top and do the same at the bottom

Step 14 Add dimensionals to back adhere to centre of Pool Party layer.
Step 15 Cut a piece of matching ribbon 11cm, adhere that to the Tailored Tag piece

Step 16 Cut a 2.5cm x 9.5cm Whisper White cardstock strip, stamp your sentiment
Step 17 Using the Banner Triple punch cut your arrows to form your banner.
Step 18 Adhere this banner over the top of your ribbon.
This is what your card should look like... Hope you like it!!!
I just whipped up a quick card using the Babywipe Technique
and these 3 colours...OMG!!! These colours look AMAZING together.
You simply add drops of re-inkers onto a folded baby wipe and using any stamp
you create your own coloured impression.  Added some leftover pieces from the
above card and YAY!!! another finished card... I think I will give these to my team <3

Up next is Sandra Roberts, she creates beautiful cards and I am sure that today's
will be a wonderful creation...cannot wait to see it!!!

Global Stamping Friends - Design Sketch Challenge

Welcome to Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop
We are group of International card makers who love to be challenged
monthly to create to a specific theme, this month we have a design sketch.
(see below)
We have a very talented designer in Angelique Stempelkeuken who created this design,
you may have just come from her blog or you are starting here with me...
I created a very easy card with this design as I was pressed for time SORRY!
My card I kept exactly to the design
KISS - Keep it simple stupid, is my philosophy when I don't have much time.

I used all retiring products to create this card, will be SAD to say goodbye
to these pair. Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper 144118 and
Birthday Friends Framelits Dies 143658
Both can still be purchased in my online shop

Birthday Memories has the most delightful characters which remind me of
"Little Golden Books" that I read as a small child here in Australia.
Do you have them where you live in the world?

Here is a close up of my card to see all the elements

I have so many Birthday's coming up so I thought I better make a couple.
So easy to make cards with this suite as you have dies that cut out
the designs on the DSP...no fussy cutting for me tonight.

Up next is Vicky Wright is a fellow Sunny Queenslander who will have
created something AMAZING with this design.

Here is the complete list of Hoppers, just in case one of the links are broken
Thanks for joining us on this hop, please leave me some love below
and I will in turn give you some lovin' too.
